Another Connection

The generous donation provided by Cruise West will enable the PMMC to move forward with our internship program. We now can begin planning earlier and more solidly than ever before. We will be expected to meet and greet the Cruise West vessels and develop programs for their ship board clientele. This is much like we have done, but now our presentations will be more “personalized” and we will be part of the CW shore excursion package. This connection will provide more opportunities to increase public awareness about our mission: providing educational programs about the marine environment and the creatures in our midst.

The Center will enjoy more visibility this summer when a new banner will be located prominently on the Viking Travel Building. Dave and Nancy Berg graciously agreed to this 12 foot long adornment when approached by Linblad Cruises who provided this donation.

Now, travelers, unfamiliar with Petersburg will find our location more easily than in years past. Also, local folks will be reminded of our presence in the community each time they pass our Center. We would like to thank the Bergs, Linblad, the vessel Sea Lion and, for his donation of graphics, Advisor Jim Nahmens, and help with the design and logo, Advisor Jeff Reynolds.
